Science

Predicting future performance is incredibly hard. And incredibly powerful when you get it right.

A HiPeople candidate evaluation: a Customer Success Manager response scored against behavioral anchors, with an 85% overall fit.

Solving the hardest problems requires teamwork.

HiPeople science

We’re leveraging decades of forefront research to create our own inventories, scales and customized tests. Our library spans 400+ validated tests, among them novel instruments such as AI Readiness and AI Risk Awareness.

AI Readiness — a validated assessment to measure individuals' readiness for AI in the workplace.
AI Risk Awareness — a science-based assessment to understand risk perception and responsible AI use.

Science advisors

We’re proud to collaborate with leading researchers in the field of psychometrics. That way we make sure we’re not limiting ourselves to our own thinking and findings, and think more outside the box.

Collaborations

We frequently collaborate with researchers in psychometrics — be it reviewing novel inventories before public release, or developing new inventories together. One example is our unique work with the GESIS Leibniz Institute for the Social Sciences, with whom we released a pioneering Diversity assessment.

More than a prompt.

HiPeople doesn’t simply ask an LLM whether an answer is good. We use structured criteria, behavioral anchors, and multiple evaluation steps to assess candidates in a reliable and job-relevant way.

1 Role context

We analyze the role, required competencies and job context.

2 Evaluation criteria

We define structured criteria based on research and best practices.

3 Behavioral anchors

We use Behaviorally Anchored Rating Scales (BARS) to ensure consistent and fair evaluation.

4 Evidence

We analyze the candidate’s response for concrete, defensible evidence.

5 Evaluation

We combine multiple evaluation steps to produce a reliable, job-relevant score.

Science and technology are powerful. But there are boundaries.

We evaluate

  • Job-relevant responses
  • Demonstrated skills
  • Relevant experience
  • Behavioral evidence

We do not evaluate

  • Facial expressions
  • Appearance
  • Accent
  • Tone of voice
  • Perceived emotions

If a signal isn’t relevant and defensible for the hiring decision, it doesn’t belong in the score.

How we build evaluations

We blend research, expertise, and job-specific requirements to create fair, reliable, and job-relevant evaluations.

1 Define

You provide your unique context and requirements. We identify the skills and behaviors that matter based on this.

2 Design

We build evaluations combining our research context with AI capabilities, so you see the first items in hours, not weeks.

3 Validate

You review the exemplary items we provide. Based on your feedback we iterate and adjust. Items that pass move to development, which includes item testing and external benchmarking.

4 Launch

Items move to production, where they’re transferred into a fully branded, consumer-grade testing environment. Learn more about question formats here.

5 Monitor

Every live test and individual item is tracked and monitored, so we can quickly identify items that need updates or replacements. Ongoing validity studies are available on request.
