HiPeople launches a dedicated US region

Today, we’re introducing a dedicated US region for HiPeople, giving enterprise customers greater control over where their data is processed and stored.

All processing, including model endpoints, stays within the United States.

Organizations with strict data residency requirements can now use HiPeople without their data leaving US soil.

US, EU, or Global

Enterprise customers can now choose between three regional configurations:

US for organizations that require processing and storage within the United States.

EU for organizations that require processing and storage within the European Union.

Global for customers without dedicated regional requirements.

We also support multi-region configurations within a single account. A global organization can, for example, operate its US entity in the US region while using another region for its other entities, all within the same HiPeople account. There’s no need to create and manage separate accounts for each region.

Data residency goes beyond where your infrastructure runs

Getting core infrastructure into the right region is only part of the picture.

AI products rely on multiple models, each with its own processing endpoints. Where a model provider is based doesn’t determine where your data is processed.

That’s why we designed our US region around the complete processing path.

For customers using the dedicated US region, processing remains within the United States across the stack, including the model endpoints involved.

Some newly released models may not be available in the US or EU region immediately at launch. We make them available once they support endpoints in the respective region.

Why we built this now

More than half of HiPeople’s customers are based in the United States, including some of the country’s most recognized brands and organizations with more than 200 years of history.

At the same time, data residency is becoming increasingly important.

Over the past decade, GDPR and related requirements made dedicated European regions a standard expectation for global software providers. We’re now seeing stronger regional requirements emerge in the United States as well.

This is particularly relevant for large enterprises, government and government-adjacent organizations, defense-related companies, and other organizations working with sensitive or critical data.

US data residency isn’t only relevant to companies headquartered in the United States.

A global enterprise might have a US subsidiary with different requirements from the rest of its organization. A manufacturer, for example, might produce critical components for US defense capabilities through a local entity and need the data associated with those operations to remain in the country.

With multi-region support, those requirements don’t have to dictate the configuration of the entire organization.

There’s a performance benefit, too. For customers operating in the US region, the shorter distance data needs to travel can make HiPeople noticeably more responsive for users across the US and LATAM.

The dedicated US region is available to eligible HiPeople Enterprise customers and through Enterprise add-ons.
